Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Millwright will focus on maintaining equipment and minimizing downtime. With an emphasis on safety, the Millwright will maintain the facility’s systems and equipment by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and repairing, rebuilding, or replacing equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As part of the maintenance team, focus on minimizing downtime through the execution of a preventative maintenance program, equipment troubleshooting, and hands‑on corrective actions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on processing equipment, maximize equipment uptime, and complete general maintenance repairs.
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts during scheduled preventative maintenance or unscheduled maintenance.
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or equipment setup.
  • Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
  • Assist with opening and closing the facility, as well as equipment start‑up and shutdown, as required.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding maintenance activities and requirements.
  • Promote and comply with all Health and Safety regulations.
  • Work with management to identify areas for improvement and help prioritize maintenance activities.
  • Maintain general housekeeping of the maintenance department and all areas within the facility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Environment: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors — requiring adaptability to temperature changes and weather conditions.
  • Dusty and dirty environment.
  • Uniform provided.
  • Hearing protection required due to high noise levels.
  • Handling of various chemicals (e.g., cementitious materials); proper respirator fit and usage required.
  • Significant repetitive physical effort required — must be able to lift up to 30 kg.
  • Safe work around moving machinery and equipment.
  • Overtime may be required.

Your expertise - Our strength

  • Hands-on mechanical experience
  • Must have Certificate of Qualification License 433A
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with screw, belt, roller conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gear reducers, mixers, machinery rebuilding/replacing and troubleshooting is an asset
  • Weekend voluntary overtime shifts, off - shifts - call - ins maybe required
  • Must have completed three-year Millwright/Mechanic apprenticeship program
